About The Position

The Architect's primary function is translating the Cybersecurity vision and multi-year strategy into practice working directly with the CISO and key business leaders across the company such as the CIO, VP of Engineering and Architecture, CTO, and SVP of Product. In the context of both cloud SaaS initiatives and the company's project efforts, they will define a framework that engineers will use to interpret requirements from projects and initiatives. This will provide security solutions that meet the needs of the business while conforming to regulatory obligations, security standards, and security policies.

Requirements

  • GED or HS Diploma
  • 5+ years of architecture or cyber engineering experience.
  • 7+ years of background in Identity and Access Management, networking, firewall, and cloud security, Security Operations, Security Incident Event Management, and Artificial Intelligence.
  • Experience with reviewing and identifying risk in enterprise initiatives and strategy in large enterprises that follow various security frameworks such as NIST 800-53 and PCI.
  • Program and project management execution, budgeting, and risk prioritization.
  • Aptitude to think and act strategically, independently, and proactively.
  • Strong verbal and written communicator that can appropriately present complex concepts to technical teams and business peers.
  • Ability to perform budgeting and accounting reviews of CSO budgets and understand basic concepts such as Accrual based accounting and verifying charges are made to the correct departments.
  • Advise the team in establishing and executing the roadmap and deliver quality results.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative organizations working effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
  • CISSP certified candidates strongly preferred.
  • MS and/or MBA.
  • Five plus (5+) years of background functioning in a senior leadership role, major operating group, or subsidiary with accountability for cybersecurity.
  • Certification(s): CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, PCIP, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Takes lead on all high-priority, strategic projects that directly affect customer relations and revenue impact.
  • Is one of the first in line to back up CISO in the event CISO is unable to perform duties (i.e. on vacation, sick, etc.).
  • Provides the lead on creating CSO three-year strategy and ensuring that all projects align with current risk-levels and are centered around executing on the strategy.
  • Approves all budget expenditures related to the three-year plan and tracks budget to ensure that the CSO department follows the submitted budget.
  • Meets with top customers to listen to their concerns and ensure that current projects are aligned with customer needs.
  • Assists in creating high-profile reports for Audit Committee, Steering Committee, and CEO Staff that outline top risks and mitigation for the CSO program.
  • Represents CISO on high-profile RFP customer reviews. Has a comprehensive understanding of products and services and their security level we provide to customers.
  • Works individually and with the cybersecurity teams to define security requirements, track security specific issues/concerns, provide secure solutions to support business initiatives and roadmaps, communicate identified vulnerabilities being introduced into the environment, and identify exceptions to policy.
  • Leads the development of enterprise-wide secure designs as well as research, develops and recommends architectural policies and practices for current and future initiatives from definition phase through implementation.
  • Manages internal security projects that require little assistance from other groups. This includes writing requirements, handling the procurement process, initial installation and configuration and leading all aspects of the entire project lifecycle, including project execution.
  • Researches, evaluates, and knows the latest on emerging tools, techniques, and technologies.
  • Acts as team lead, working side by side with other personnel in an advisory, support and training role.
  • Manage multiple simultaneous projects and tasks that involve different team members.
  • Work with the Cybersecurity Operations teams to monitor and research industry information sources for infrastructure related threats and vulnerabilities that impact the organization.
  • Define standardized processes, tools, and platforms for the timely and quality delivery of cybersecurity solutions in cooperation with other IT and business units.
  • Ensure that sensitive data is protected from unauthorized modification, destruction, and disclosure.
  • Identify project roadblocks and work with management and team members to resolve them.
