About The Position

The Cybersecurity Architect is responsible for designing, shaping, and guiding the cybersecurity architecture that protects mission-critical systems across specified USSF Mission System platforms. This role translates complex technical, operational, and regulatory requirements into secure, sustainable system designs that meet stringent DoW, JSIG, and RMF standards. The Cybersecurity Architect ensures security principles are embedded throughout the system lifecycle from conceptual design through deployment and sustainment. The architect collaborates with ISSDs, Systems Security Analysts, Vulnerability Assessment Analysts, system owners, and mission partners to develop secure architectures, validate security controls, and advise on risk- informed engineering decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or equivalent experience plus 3+ years of specific experience supporting DoW Cyber/ Information Systems Security
  • Required certification: CISSP or equivalent (SecurityX/CCNP/GCED/CCSP/CISM/GSLC)
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with modeling tools, e.g., Sparx, Cameo
  • Demonstrated experience with systems security architecture, development lifecycles, and supported engineering teams, system owners, and cybersecurity staff
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with DoW Cybersecurity policy or equivalent
  • Understanding of risk methodology
  • Understanding of information security principles, DoW STIGs, and A&A processes for systems
  • MUST HAVE A CURRENT TOP SECRET/SCI ELIGIBLE SECURITY CLEARANCE, FOR WHICH YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN.

Nice To Haves

  • MS in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering degree
  • Familiarity with the following tools: Splunk, ACAS, CVSS Calculator, Jira, Confluence, Mattermost
  • Evaluating security vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies for networked and non-networked systems from a security architect perspective
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
