About The Position

Interclypse is seeking a Cybersecurity Architect (Senior) to support several Maryland state agencies in the modernization and sustainment of critical systems. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the long-term health and success of the state while continuing to learn and grow professionally within Interclypse’s growth mindset culture. The position provides expertise in the most current principles and practices of architecture data management systems and experience in large system designs. The role leads the development and implementation of a Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) roadmap for cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments, ensuring alignment with government, or organizational standards like NIST SP 800-207. The Cybersecurity Architect acts as the chief architect in major IT implementation efforts, providing technical guidance, mentoring junior staff, and demonstrating excellence in written and verbal communication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least ten (10) years of experience planning, designing, building, and implementing IT systems.
  • At least seven (7) years of the required experience must be in the direct design and implementation of enterprise-level cybersecurity architectures.
  • Demonstrated experience leading the architectural design of major IT security projects.
  • Deep expertise in Zero Trust principles.
  • Deep expertise in cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Deep expertise in NIST frameworks (e.g., Cybersecurity Framework, SP 800-53).

Nice To Haves

  • A Master’s degree is preferred.
