About The Position

The Cybersecurity Analyst reports to and receives work direction derivatives from the JEDD Program Manager. This role involves monitoring networks and systems for security breaches, detecting and responding to threats, conducting penetration testing, implementing security policies, and maintaining security software. The analyst will also analyze monitoring reports, coordinate with other departments on risk mitigation and disaster recovery, provide cybersecurity awareness training, stay updated on threat intelligence, and document incidents for compliance.

Requirements

  • Associate degree from accredited University is preferred.
  • CNSSI 4011 Information System Security (INFOSEC) Professional is an acceptable alternative.
  • Required Training/Certificates: IAT-1 Certifications (A+, Network+, SSCP, CCNA-Security), IAM-1 Certifications (CAP, GSLC, Security+ CE), CD (CEH, GCIA, CSIH, GCIH).
  • Operating System/Computing Environment Certificate for applicable systems (with Privileged Access).
  • Operating System/Computing Environment (OS/CE) certificate of training.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity or related field.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills – read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Able to design, prepare, and present clear training programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent computer skills required. Proficient in the entire suite of MS Office and ability to quickly learn additional systems.
  • Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to the company’s auto insurance provider.
  • A Secret security clearance is required for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with SharePoint and C2PC is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor networks and systems for security breaches or intrusions.
  • Detect and respond to threats by analyzing alerts and incident reports.
  • Conduct penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to identify weaknesses.
  • Implement and maintain security policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Install and operate security software, anti-malware tools, and endpoint protection.
  • Analyze monitoring system reports to filter false positives and focus on real threats.
  • Coordinate with IT and other departments to mitigate risks and update disaster recovery plans.
  • Provide cybersecurity awareness training to employees.
  • Stay updated on threat intelligence and emerging attack methodologies.
  • Document incidents, breaches, and remediation steps for compliance and audit purposes.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.
