About The Position

We are seeking a full time Cybersecurity Analyst to join our team. Under limited supervision, protect the credit union’s information systems assets, infrastructure, and member data by administering, monitoring, and continuously improving technical security controls. This role performs hands-on cybersecurity operations while partnering with infrastructure, service desk, and business teams to maintain secure, reliable, and audit-ready operations. The position is expected to independently manage assigned responsibilities and contribute to ongoing security maturity initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Three to five years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or closely related IT roles.
  • Working knowledge of security principles, risk management, access control, change management, and security testing.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, DNS, VPN, and authentication protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize competing demands.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to initiate and embrace change.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication, and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Extended duration of computer terminal usage.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a regulated environment such as financial services, healthcare, or similar preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following preferred: Palo Alto firewalls, SIEM/log management, endpoint security, MFA, DNS filtering, or email security platforms.
  • CompTIA Security+, Network+, Microsoft security certifications, or Palo Alto certifications preferred.
  • ISC2 CISSP or equivalent advanced certification a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support enterprise security platforms including firewalls, secure remote access, DNS filtering, MFA, endpoint, and email security tools.
  • Perform configuration changes, upgrades, patching, lifecycle tasks, and public-facing certificate renewals.
  • Monitor security alerts, investigate suspicious activity, and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Respond to cybersecurity incidents including containment, mitigation, root cause analysis, documentation, and follow-up improvements.
  • Review logs and perform analysis in support of investigations, threat detection, and control validation.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, coordinate remediation, and track issues to closure.
  • Support phishing investigations, email threat analysis, and user-reported security events.
  • Support access security controls including MFA, remote access, privileged access reviews, and endpoint policy enforcement.
  • Assist with security reviews for new systems, projects, and material technology changes.
  • Maintain policies, procedures, standards, inventories, and technical documentation.
  • Support audits, examinations, evidence requests, risk assessments, and control reviews.
  • Produce recurring metrics, dashboards, and security status summaries for management.
  • Research emerging threats and recommend practical security improvements.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams, vendors, carriers, contractors, and management.
