About The Position

Leidos Defense currently has an opening for a Cybersecurity Analyst to work in our office in Huntsville, AL. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience to provide solutions to ensure compliance with the DoD RMF Framework for systems in development while maintaining continued functionality. The ideal candidate will oversee, evaluate, and support documentation and assessment processes to meet government cybersecurity standards. The candidate will support external test and risk reduction events, implement STIGs for systems and assist system owners in addressing items on a POA&M. Candidate will be required to support multiple tasks in parallel, productively contribute in and lead team engagements, and communicate effectively to management, coworkers, and customers. Candidate must show willingness to expand technical expertise to increase the impact of contributions across the team and client mission. Utilizing best practices and methods for monitoring, auditing, and measuring risk, compliance, and assurance efforts. Ensuring risk, compliance, and assurance efforts conform to DoD security, resilience, and dependability requirements at the software application, system, and network levels. Documenting preliminary or residual security risks for system operation & manage and finalize Accreditation Packages.

Requirements

  • BS degree plus 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Foundational understanding of cybersecurity with the ability to develop and maintain a Risk Management Framework authorization package.
  • Familiarity with DoD STIG requirements, RMF, IAVM’s.
  • Familiarity with Cybersecurity assessment tools such as ACAS, Nessus, SCC, STIG Viewer.
  • Experience administrating Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a highly-technical, team-oriented environment that includes customers and co-workers.
  • Strong desire to learn and constantly improve.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Possess and maintain an active current Secret Clearance.
  • Must be a resident of Huntsville, AL or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.

  • Experience mentoring and teaching Cybersecurity/IT methods and best practices to peers.
