About The Position

As a Cyber Systems Security Engineer, you'll become an integral part of our Syracuse, NY System Security Team, directly supporting international and domestic programs. In this role you will be responsible for: Developing solutions to protect sensitive information and systems. Leading technical planning, verification, evaluation, and analysis of critical program information, cost, and risk. Supporting capture efforts and future capabilities to stay ahead of emerging threats. Coordinating and executing test events both internally and externally. Engaging with both internal and external customers and auditors to address technical concerns and resolve issues. Communicating effectively with program personnel, executives, and government officials. Developing and coordinating test strategies, plans, procedures, and reports across programs to ensure thorough validation and program success.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable and relevant cybersecurity engineering or systems administration experience.
  • Good working knowledge of Linux or Windows based systems.
  • Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II Certification or higher (e.g. CompTIA Security+ or CISSP)
  • Ability to obtain an Secret DoD Secret security clearance prior to starting this position.
  • Obtaining a Security Clearance requires US citizenship.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience

  • Bachelors degree in related field
  • Tenable Security Center, Tenable Nessus, Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) administration experience
  • ACAS scanning
  • Trellix and Endpoint Security Solution (ESS) administration and monitoring
  • SolarWinds tools experience
  • Linux/Red Hat or Windows OS certifications
  • Experience with Windows Active Directory and Group Policy maintenance
  • Familiarity with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
  • Troubleshooting as a systems administrator
  • Good organizational and coordination skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to support and collaborate with a team
  • Critical thinking skills to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
