About The Position

SAIC's Horizon program is seeking a Cyber Systems Engineer to join the U.S. Space Force team delivering warfighter capability via the Space Systems Command's Space Combat Power portfolios. The successful candidate will be a part of the team responsible for developing and delivering cyber capabilities to Space Force cyber operators. We are looking for an innovative, creative and highly motivated individual with operational cyber expertise and experience designing, developing, deploying, and sustaining cyber capabilities, and space and ground system architectures to support strategic planning and system acquisition across Space Combat Power portfolios. The Horizon program is supporting Government weapon systems program offices with subject matter experts that have a background with the Department of Defense major capability acquisition process. Horizon team members provide systems acquisitions and program management support on various capability development programs that are intended to protect and defend the Nation's most valuable space assets. Our team is at the forefront of the advising and assisting the Government throughout the full lifecycle of systems acquisition processes that enable in most instances, rapid fielding to meet warfighter needs.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting various systems architecting and engineering activities such as system requirements definition, design, interface management, data architecture development, verification and validation, integration, performance analysis, lifecycle cost analysis & estimation, decision analysis, and physical configuration assessments
  • Provide expert advice to the Senior Program Director, Program Managers, and support staff regarding acquisition strategies, contracting, budgeting, and execution
  • Provide contracting assistance to technical personnel involved in development of performance work statement, statement of work, or data deliverable requirements for variety of pre-award and/or post-award procurement actions (e.g., Requirement, SOW, CDRLs, Incentive Plans, etc.)
  • Ensuring the cybersecurity architecture and design of the customer's systems are functional and secure with the ability to identify, protect, detect, respond and recover from cyber-attack
  • Draft technical evaluations and function as an advisor in source selections
  • Provide technical and programmatic assessments of contractor designs and milestone reviews to assess progress, risks and issues, and the ability to achieve mission requirements
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Performing engineering analysis such as edge-node vulnerability assessments and develops technical requirements for payloads based on findings; payload to platform integration; system software code reviews
  • Supporting development of system engineering items such as CONOPs, requirements definitions (or features, themes, epics), system testing, algorithm document review, and interfaces to other application development efforts
