About The Position

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking a Principal Cyber Systems Engineer/Sr. Principal Cyber Systems Engineer – 19899 to join our team, located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program. The Sentinel Flight Systems Guidance Software Integration & Test team is looking for a Cyber Systems Engineer that can help to maintain test set equipment and configuration. This includes supporting requests related to new environments as well as existing environments. The candidate must be able to operate in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and interface with multiple internal and external stakeholders. This is a dual level position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience; Master's degree with 3 years of relevant experience; PhD with 1 year of relevant experience. 4 Additional years of experience may be used in lieu of a degree. (for Principal)
  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience; Master's degree with 6 years of relevant experience; PhD with 4 years of relevant experience. 4 additional years of experience may be used in lieu of a degree. (for Sr. Principal)
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD security clearance (Secret) and with an active Enhanced Security Clearances (SAP).
  • Currently meets DoD 8140 Certification Requirements and holds an active Sec+
  • 4+ Experience maintaining IT equipment, servers, switches, and networked systems, including systems administration of Linux/RHEL- and Windows-based machines (for Principal)
  • 5+ Experience maintaining IT equipment, servers, switches, and networked systems, including systems administration of Linux/RHEL- and Windows-based machines (for Sr. Principal)
  • Experience installing patches, updating software, drivers, and operating systems, and managing user accounts, group accounts, and permissions on Linux/RHEL and Windows systems
  • Experience configuring network infrastructure and user equipment in existing environments, including connectivity and access support for Linux/RHEL and Windows machines
  • Experience supporting the design, setup, and stand-up of new networked environments, including Linux/RHEL and Windows system configuration and deployment

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity compliance, configuration management, system documentation, and Linux/RHEL/Windows administration best practices
  • Experience developing and maintaining network diagrams, configuration records, and cyber documentation
  • Experience with RTOS
  • Active CISSP or CSSLP certification

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain Windows and Linux-based test systems, equipment, and networks
  • Install and verify Windows and Linux patches, updates, and firmware
  • Administer Windows and Linux user/group accounts, roles, and permissions
  • Harden and update Windows and Linux software, drivers, and operating systems
  • Configure and troubleshoot switches, servers, and network connections supporting Windows and Linux environments
  • Maintain current network diagrams, cyber records, approvals, and configuration baselines
  • Analyze and fulfill change requests in existing Windows and Linux environments
  • Initiate and track cyber requests for new hardware and software
  • Evaluate and recommend network equipment to meet Windows and Linux environment needs
  • Design, stand up, and validate new Windows and Linux environments, including associated network configurations and test equipment
