About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Junior Level Cyber Software Engineer to support our Atlantis Program contract at the Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC PAC) facility in San Diego, CA. As the Sub contractor on the Atlantis task order, Peraton is responsible for supporting a Multi-level Security (MLS) Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) system providing situational tracking and management capabilities, full message processing tools, and a variety of analysis utilities, along with office, e-mail, chat, and web browsing applications. The role involves supporting current operations, planned growth, life cycle support, maintenance and sustainment, system administration support, upgrade and logistics support of the Joint Cross Domain Exchange (JCDX) system, which is networked and deployed globally in support of U.S. Sponsors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM related field with 2 years, 0 years with MS/MA, or 6 years of relevant experience in Software Development.
  • Basic experience with system installation/configuration and/or basic programming skills
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET Clearance and ability to go through the process of a final TS Security Clearance with SSBI and SCI access.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Proficient in Linux Operating systems and shell scripting
  • Strong Programming skills in C/C++, Golang, Python, and JAVA
  • Experience with Software development tools and practices (e.g., Gitlab, CI/CD)
  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Software Development: design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using modern programming language.
  • System Design: Contribute to the design and architecture of scalable and efficient software systems.
  • Linux Experience: utilizing advanced Linux skills including kernel development, for software development and system optimization.
  • Code Review: Participate in code reviews, provide feedback, and improve code quality.
  • Collaboration: work closely with cross functional teams including product management, QA, and operations to deliver high quality products.
  • Problem Solving: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software issues in a timely manner.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for software systems and processes.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends and apply knowledge to improve existing systems and processes.
