About The Position

Axya is seeking a Cybersecurity lead to protect our digital infrastructure, data, and AI-driven platforms from evolving cyber threats. You will design, implement, and monitor security measures to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our systems. Cybersecurity professionals in Canada typically develop, implement, and monitor security controls to prevent unauthorized access and attacks.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or SOC environments
Knowledge of network security, cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP)
Knowledge of SIEM tools, IDS/IPS systems
Knowledge of encryption, authentication, and access control
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with scripting (Python, Bash)
Certifications preferred: CISSP, CEH, Security+
Experience securing AI/ML platforms or SaaS environments
Knowledge of API security and data pipelines
Understanding of DevSecOps practices

Responsibilities

Monitor systems, networks, and applications for suspicious activity and security incidents
Detect, investigate, and respond to cyber threats in real time
Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis
Implement and maintain security tools (firewalls, SIEM, endpoint protection)
Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures
Conduct incident response and post-incident analysis
Ensure compliance with Canadian regulations (e.g., PIPEDA) and industry standards
Collaborate with engineering and product teams to embed security into Axya’s platform
Provide employee training on cybersecurity awareness and best practices
