About The Position

As an NBCUniversal Academic Year intern, you will engage in real projects, contribute to a collaborative culture, and receive support for growth across two full semesters. The Internship Program emphasizes impact, offering the chance to contribute to meaningful work while developing valuable skills. This environment is designed for learning and growth, especially for individuals curious, driven, and excited about media, entertainment, and technology. The Digital Security team, part of NBCUniversal’s Global Security Operations – Intelligence & Investigations, protects high-profile individuals, brands, and productions globally. The team focuses on digital threat monitoring, open-source intelligence, and investigative support. Interns will gain hands-on exposure to real-world digital security operations in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment, including monitoring online threats, supporting investigations, and contributing to executive protection and reputational risk efforts. Interns will participate in active cases and ongoing initiatives, learning how digital intelligence informs operational decision-making and response. The program runs from September 21, 2026, to April 23, 2027, requiring 16-24 hours per week, with schedules determined by business needs and accommodating course schedules. Opportunities require working from New York, NY.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027).
  • December 2026 graduates are not eligible for this Academic Year Internship Program.
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027.
  • Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
  • Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Able to assess information critically and eager to learn digital security and OSINT techniques.
  • Capable of producing accurate monitoring, documentation, and investigative support in sensitive cases.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Criminal Justice, Intelligence Studies, Political Science, Digital Forensics, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and an interest in digital investigations, threat intelligence, or online risk monitoring.
