About The Position

As an NBCUniversal Academic Year intern, you will engage in real projects, contribute to a collaborative culture, and receive support for growth over two full semesters. The Internship Program focuses on impact, allowing interns to contribute to meaningful work while developing essential skills. This program is designed for curious, driven individuals excited about media, entertainment, and technology. Internships are paid and include additional benefits. The program runs from September 21, 2026, to April 23, 2027, requiring 16-24 hours per week, with schedules determined by business needs and efforts to accommodate course schedules. Opportunities are onsite in Universal City, CA. The Cyber Security Consumer Prod Sec group, part of Operations & Technology (O&T), oversees the studio's film and TV business division, including brands like DreamWorks, Illumination Entertainment, Santa Monica Focus Features Studio Post. The intern will gain exposure to these brands and television projects, working on production identity, single sign-on efforts, risk mitigation, and new production workflow development in partnership with the business to ensure security.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027)
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027
  • Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA
  • Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship
  • Must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Previous history and understanding of security in any capacity
  • Knowledge of the media entertainment work closed
  • General understanding of computer skills and technology ecosystem tied to the media entertainment environment

Responsibilities

  • Receive exposure to various brands and television projects under the studio's film and TV business division umbrella
  • Work on projects related to production identity
  • Contribute to the development of a single sign-on effort across production
  • Engage in risk mitigation projects
  • Participate in the development of new production workflows
  • Partner with the business to ensure security
