About The Position

As a Cyber Security Intern at United Launch Alliance, you will gain hands-on experience and have the opportunity to develop skills in areas such as Cyber Defense, Engineering, or Governance, Risk, and Compliance. You will support incident response efforts, collaborate on security solutions, and help prepare reports for stakeholders. Interns will also support experienced business professionals, shadow operations, and gain experience in the aerospace industry. Additional activities and events are available to help interns build their network within ULA and with fellow interns.

Requirements

At minimum completed Freshman year of college or university by the time of the summer internship assignment.
High School/GED
Must have a minimum college GPA of 2.90 on a 4.00 scale at the time of application; cumulative, no rounding.
Must have a valid driver’s license and motorized vehicle transportation if assigned an internship in Alabama; California; Florida; or Pueblo, Colorado. For Denver, Colorado and Washington, DC, motorized transportation is recommended.
At minimum, actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field from an accredited college or university.
Must have plans to be enrolled in classes during Fall Semester 2027.
Ability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer of 2027.
Must have an interest in learning any of the following: Endpoint Protection stack, Firewall configuration and rule logic, Risk Management Frameworks and Security Plans, Email security systems, Intrusion detection and prevention systems, Enterprise Security, Cyber Security and user access management, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) Systems, Threat Hunting, Digital Forensics and Incident Response
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
Effective presentation, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to complete an internship at any of the below ULA's locations: Denver, CO

Preferred degree focus for this internship is in Cyber Security , Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Information or Computer Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, or relevant field of study.

Responsibilities

Gain experience as Cyber Defenders, Engineers, or Governance, Risk, and Compliance specialists to develop their skills to manage risk and defend networks against an ever-growing threat landscape.
Support incident response efforts, including investigating security incidents, documenting findings, and recommending remediation actions.
Collaborate on the design and implementation of security solutions to protect the organization’s infrastructure and data.
Help prepare reports and documentation to communicate security status, compliance findings, and risk mitigation strategies to stakeholders.
Support one or more experienced business professionals in performance of assignments, spend time shadowing actual operations, and have unique assignments that support larger projects as well as experience the day-to-day workings of the business side of the aerospace industry.
Interns may perform and/or participate in additional activities/events which help them build a strong network within the ULA community and with fellow interns!
