The Columbia Ship Control Engineering (D432) applies several engineering disciplines to develop, deliver, maintain and support advanced fly-by-wire control systems. Engineering opportunities range from initial system design through development, hardware/software integration, test, delivery, and integration of these systems aboard nuclear submarines. The role of the Cybersecurity Systems Engineer is to support continuous monitoring and enforcement of control systems security risk assessments. This includes following and writing processes for continuous improvement and operation. This also includes writing and providing training to enforce control systems security compliance. The objective is to ensure that cybersecurity requirements are implemented and validated and track requirements that are not being met. Related responsibilities include equipment research, project management, risk management, preparing presentations, and participating in customer meetings.
