This role offers an opportunity to advance experience in cyber security, networking, and systems engineering supporting the United States Army. As a systems security and network security engineer, the individual will identify the cyber posture needed to assess vulnerabilities and recommend the best solution and security strategy. The role involves developing and implementing security solutions to allow armed forces to administer modern technologies on tactical and deployed systems safely, securely, and hardened, while maintaining efficiency for mission success. The engineer will troubleshoot and analyze complex challenges using knowledge of network and cyber security best practices, tools, and scripting techniques to automate tasks and improve efficiencies. Research and development of security solutions will be driven by curiosity for technology and market trends. Primarily using Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), the engineer will help assess security threats and implement infrastructure controls. Collaboration with multiple Program Executive Offices (PEO) within the Army is expected to design and maintain a reliable cyber posture across systems deployed in classified and unclassified environments. The role involves working with systems engineers, software developers, and cybersecurity experts to understand client goals and needs, and sharing expertise during the planning of acquisition, installation, and configuration of Army systems that must maintain an Authority to Operate (ATO) via the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process. The position will closely impact mission areas by assessing objectives and providing cyber security solutions that align with mission parameters. The team focuses on growth through mentoring, challenging hands-on problem-solving, and opportunities to learn new tools and skills to create the best solutions for customers.
