The Cyber Security Engineer designs, implements, and maintains security measures to protect organizational systems and networks. The role conducts vulnerability assessments, monitors security infrastructure, responds to security incidents, collaborates with IT teams on compliance, and may contribute to security audits and protocols. For AEVEX, this role helps secure vessel and ground-control systems, communications, infrastructure, and deployed platforms. The engineer interprets security assessments and vulnerability findings, turns them into engineering tasks, and works with engineering teams to resolve issues. The role improves security across Linux systems, containers, and distributed components; strengthens authentication, access control, segmentation, and monitoring; reduces attack surface; analyzes vulnerabilities and failure modes; validates fixes; and helps systems remain resilient under degraded conditions. It also defines practical security requirements, contributes to documentation and technical artifacts, and supports ongoing platform security improvement. Other duties may be required. The position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance and U.S. citizenship. AEVEX supports national security missions and provides aviation, remote sensing, analysis, engineering, and mission-system solutions.
