As an Entry Level Cyber Security Engineer, you’ll work with cross functional teams to support the design, deployment, configuration, and maintenance of cybersecurity tools and capabilities. You’ll gain hands on experience with modern security tools, technical platforms, and AI enabled workflows while building strong foundations in cyber engineering, automation, and the responsible use of emerging technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Security, Systems Engineering, or a related field with exposure to cybersecurity concepts.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DHS EOD/Public Trust clearance.
• Curiosity, professionalism, and a strong desire for continuous learning.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with comfort navigating ambiguity and complex information.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify and explain complex ideas.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with cross functional teams.
• Ability to apply foundational cybersecurity principles and methods to solve narrowly defined technical problems and support secure engineering activities.
• Interest in learning and responsibly using AI‑enabled tools, automation platforms, and modern cybersecurity technologies to support secure engineering, analysis, documentation, and solution delivery

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to cybersecurity engineering concepts, security technologies, scripting or automation tools, or modern technical platforms through coursework, internships, research, competitions, or personal projects is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop a strong understanding of your client’s industry, mission, technology landscape, and cybersecurity objectives.
• Build trusted relationships by asking thoughtful questions, actively listening, and clearly communicating ideas.
• Collaborate with clients and cross‑functional teams to support the design, configuration, and implementation of cybersecurity solutions.
• Assist with deploying, configuring, and maintaining security tools and technologies such as endpoint protection, vulnerability scanners, firewalls, or network access controls.
• Support integration and troubleshooting activities to help ensure secure, reliable communication paths and system connectivity across environments.
• Create and maintain clear, accurate technical documentation related to architectures, configurations, processes, and security controls.
• Assist in applying continuous monitoring practices by collecting and reviewing security logs, telemetry, or system data.
• Use AI‑enabled security tools, such as automated threat detection, anomaly detection, or predictive analytics platforms, to support monitoring, analysis, and decision making.
• Support the evaluation and integration of AI/ML capabilities to enhance cybersecurity automation, monitoring, and workflow efficiency.
• Apply responsible AI practices by validating AI‑generated outputs and considering accuracy, privacy, security, transparency, and appropriate human oversight when using AI‑enabled tools and models.
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly, translating technical concepts into language that cross-functional audiences can understand.
• Collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to share information, document progress, and support secure solution delivery.
