About The Position

We are seeking a Cyber Systems Engineer or Principal Cyber Systems Engineer to support mission-critical software and technology initiatives within a secure Department of Defense environment. This role combines cybersecurity engineering, systems administration, hardware/software integration, and IT material planning responsibilities to ensure secure, compliant, and operationally ready systems. The ideal candidate will have experience implementing cybersecurity controls, supporting accreditation efforts, maintaining secure Linux and Windows environments, and collaborating with technical and program stakeholders throughout the system lifecycle.

Requirements

Cybersecurity engineering and security control implementation.
NIST SP 800-53 and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
Security accreditation processes supporting ATO and IATT environments.
Linux and/or Windows system administration.
DoD STIG implementation and compliance validation.
Hardware and software integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
Working within secure or restricted software development environments.
IT material planning, BOM development, or procurement coordination.
CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570-compliant certification.
Active Top Secret clearance.
Ability to obtain access to highly restricted programs as required.

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting Department of Defense programs.
Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
Experience with CI/CD development environments.
Strong understanding of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) technologies.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word.
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and assess cybersecurity controls in accordance with NIST, RMF, and DoD security requirements.
Support authorization activities, including ATO and IATT compliance efforts.
Partner with ISSMs, ISSOs, engineers, and program teams to maintain secure operational environments.
Deploy, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Linux and Windows-based systems.
Implement and maintain DoD STIG compliance across infrastructure and applications.
Support hardware and software integration, testing, troubleshooting, and fielding activities.
Collaborate with software development teams within Agile development environments.
Develop, manage, and maintain IT Bill of Materials (BOM) requirements for programs and proposals.
Coordinate procurement requirements with supply chain, suppliers, pricing analysts, and program stakeholders.
Contribute to technical solution development and system sustainment activities.
