About The Position

This role offers an opportunity to advance experience in cyber security, networking, and systems engineering to support the United States Army. As a systems security and network security engineer, you will identify the cyber posture needed to assess vulnerabilities and recommend the best solution and security strategy. The position involves developing and implementing security solutions to allow armed forces to administer modern technologies on tactical and deployed systems in a way that is safe, secure, and hardened while still allowing the overwhelming efficiency required for mission success. The team needs an individual to troubleshoot and analyze complex challenges for customers using knowledge of network and cyber security best practices, as well as tools and scripting techniques to automate tasks and improve efficiencies. You will use curiosity for technology and market trends to further research and develop security solutions. Primarily using Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), you will help assess security threats and implement infrastructure controls. You will work with multiple Program Executive Offices (PEO) within the Army to design and maintain a reliable cyber posture across systems deployed in classified and unclassified environments. Collaboration with highly skilled systems engineers, software developers, and cybersecurity experts is expected to learn the strategic goals and operational needs of clients. You will share expertise during the planning of acquisition, installation, and configuration of Army systems that must maintain an Authority to Operate (ATO) via the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process. In this role, you will closely impact the mission's areas by assessing mission objectives and providing cyber security solutions that coincide with mission parameters. The team focuses on growing through mentoring, challenging hands-on problem-solving, and opportunities to learn new tools and skills to make the best solutions for customers.
