About The Position

The Network Security Engineer III will work with both corporate and customer leadership to research, analyze, and implement enterprise-wide network security solutions/capabilities/enhancements to support customer business/mission goals and objectives. This role involves assisting with designs, analyses, tests, and implementation of state-of-the-art secure network architectures, conducting risk assessments, and providing design recommendations. The engineer will manage WAN, LAN, CAN, and remote network security, support Tier 3 incident and problem management, and oversee security infrastructure sustainment, maintenance, and advanced configuration of firewalls, F5 load balancers, web gateways, mail gateways, IDS, and management tools. Responsibilities also include overseeing the reporting, documentation, and investigation of security-related incidents, leading the development and implementation of corrective measures, and evaluating new network security technologies. The role acts as a liaison to contract and customer management and the government Designated Approving Authority (DAA) regarding network security status, policies, and procedures. Other job-related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Current TS/SCI security clearance with the willingness and ability to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (Related work experience considered instead of degree)
Minimum of six (6) years related technical experience in Network Security and experience with large-scale enterprise/global networks in a highly diverse environment
DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification. (Security + minimum to start)
Must obtain a CSSP Infrastructure Support certification within 6 months of the date of hire.
Ability to work independently with little direction and guidance
Ability to work weekends and evening hours as needed
Excellent writing and communication skills, including the ability to develop analytical documents and present oral presentations to senior/executive management
Proficient in MS Office suite – Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
Travel up to 15% of the time CONUS, maybe occasional OCONUS
Understanding and experience with the DoD Architecture Framework and other key DoD network architecture and strategic planning instructions.
Expert knowledge of IP services
Experience in providing status reports and products to senior management and customers
Experience with Juniper SRX, Palo Alto Firewall, F5 Load Balancer, Cisco FTD/ASA
Experience with plans, designs, and evaluations of security systems and architectures.
Experience with Unix, RHELS OS, Windows Enterprise AD architecture, and VMWare virtualization experience
Ability to develop new concepts and processes.
Ability to analyze root causes and resolve issues.
Ability to support junior level technicians and specialists in their activities.
Ability to perform all tasks of lower level technicians or specialists.
Ability to work individually, actively participate on integrated teams, and lead a task, project or team.
Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
Must be a US Citizen AND have an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance.
