About The Position

BAE Systems Cyber Security Products (CSP) group is seeking a dynamic Cyber Engineer II who thrives at the intersection of technology, security, and customer success. In this role, you’ll partner with sales managers, development teams, and internal stakeholders to co‑design secure, cross‑domain solutions for our internal services and U.S. Government customers. You’ll translate complex security requirements into actionable architecture, ensuring that every product delivery aligns with industry best practices and our rigorous compliance standards.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology or similar.
  • 3–5 years of professional cyber or systems engineering roles.
  • Proven experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows(installation, hardening, subscription management).
  • Hands‑on networking knowledge (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPN, firewalls).
  • Direct, customer‑facing role (design, assessment, support) – preferably with federal or regulated industry exposure.
  • Understanding of IAM, PKI, and endpoint security controls.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication; able to translate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills – capable of influencing sales, engineering, and executives.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
  • Must be willing and able to travel 25‑40 % (U.S. and international).
  • Currently possess a minimum of a Secret Clearance and eligibility for future upgrade clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cross‑domain security solutions (e.g., inter‑governmental data sharing, Classified Information Systems Management Control – CIMIC).
  • Certification: Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Security+, or similar.
  • Demonstrated application of cyber security best practices (NIST CSF, CIS Controls, OpenSCAP, etc.).
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, SCCM).
  • Knowledge of SIEM/SOAR (Splunk, ELK, ArcSight).
  • Obtain a Top Secret or higher security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with customers to capture requirements, analyze gaps, and architect end‑to‑end cyber‑secure solutions that span multiple domains (cloud, on‑prem, hybrid).
  • Configure, secure, and optimize cross domain platforms, networking gear, and associated security tools across heterogeneous environments.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact during pre‑sales, post‑sales, and operational phases. Conduct workshops, demos, and technical reviews.
  • Perform professional technical work that requires in-depth knowledge and diversified application of NCDSMO RTB requirements.
  • Generate technical documentation (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio) of proposed and as-built CDS implementations.
  • Join cross‑functional teams to align product roadmaps with client needs, contribute to pre‑sales engineering, and moderate trade‑off discussions.
  • Attend on‑site delivery, training, or assessment engagements across the U.S. and select international locations. Represent the organization at conferences and client events.
