The Cyber Security Engineer I is responsible for assisting and supporting the evaluation, testing, monitoring and maintenance of information systems and cyber security policies, procedures, and systems.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of hands-on experience in network security, system administration or security engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security or a related field
  • Basic understanding of networking, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, endpoint protection and security principles
  • Understanding of security frameworks and standards
  • Familiarity with operating systems and cloud platforms
  • Effective communication and documentation skills
  • Awareness of threat vectors, malware behavior and access control models
  • Ability to stay updated with emerging threats and security trends
  • Work independently and as a part of a cross functional security/IT team
  • Maintain confidentiality, integrity and availability of systems and data
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Monitor security systems and alerts for potential threats
  • Analyze security incidents and escalate them as necessary
  • Support the deployment of security tools and updates
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and basic security audits
  • Assist in incident response and investigations
  • Maintain documentation of security policies and procedures
  • Trains users on security protocol
  • Ensures the information stored on computers or networks is not disclosed to unwanted parties or modified inadvertently
