About The Position

Dominion Energy is seeking individuals for Associate Cyber Security Analyst, Cyber Security Analyst, and Senior Cyber Security Analyst roles. This is a mission-driven position focused on protecting the company from cyber threats. Responsibilities include identifying, assessing, and communicating cyber security risks, establishing security standards, performing assessments, managing vulnerabilities, and guiding defense development. The role involves educating the company on cyber threats, monitoring and analyzing internal and external threats, and facilitating client requests to ensure business continuity. The position requires assessing cyber security risks and vulnerabilities, maintaining security policies, and providing management with updates on the impact of security incidents. Collaboration with other teams to assess risks on network systems, applications, and solutions is expected. The role involves applying IT knowledge to understand mitigation options and risk frameworks, consulting with subject matter experts, and potentially participating in the cyber security incident response program. Teamwork is essential for mitigating threats and improving security posture. Cyber threat research into threat actors, campaigns, and technological advancements may also be part of the role, along with assisting in root cause investigations and mitigation of security events. This position will be filled at a level commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications.

Requirements

• Associate Cyber Security Analyst: 0-2 years of work experience in cyber security or a cyber risk related role.
• Associate Cyber Security Analyst: Basic understanding of identification, gathering, and analysis of information, threats, etc., to investigate and mitigate security risks.
• Associate Cyber Security Analyst: General understanding of cyber security and/or data system protection principles and practices.
• Associate Cyber Security Analyst: Demonstrated good organization and planning skills.
• Associate Cyber Security Analyst: Demonstrated questioning attitude, with basic analytical and investigative skills.
• Associate Cyber Security Analyst: Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with others.
• Associate Cyber Security Analyst: Willingness to learn new skills and methodologies, conduct research, and learn to maintain hardware, software, and network firewalls and encryption.
• Associate Cyber Security Analyst: Ability to work cooperatively in a teamed environment.
• Associate Cyber Security Analyst: Highly motivated, with the ability to work effectively under basic supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Cyber Security Analyst: At least 3-5 years of work experience in cyber security or a cyber risk related role.
• Cyber Security Analyst: General knowledge in the identification, gathering, and analysis of information, threats, etc., to investigate and mitigate security risks.
• Cyber Security Analyst: Working knowledge of cyber security best practices and frameworks.
• Cyber Security Analyst: Solid understanding of industrial cyber security standards, frameworks, and risk assessment modeling.
• Cyber Security Analyst: Demonstrated good organization and planning skills, to include time and project management skills.
• Sr Cyber Security Analyst: 5 years of work experience in cyber security or a cyber risk related role, or related IT networking experience (firewalls, CISCO, etc.).
• Sr Cyber Security Analyst: A Master's degree will count as one year of experience. A partial year of six months or more will be rounded up to one year.
• Sr Cyber Security Analyst: Basic understanding regarding the identification, gathering, and analysis of information, threats, etc., to investigate and mitigate security risks or related IT networking experience.
• Sr Cyber Security Analyst: General understanding of cyber security and/or data system protection principles and practices.
• Sr Cyber Security Analyst: Demonstrated good organization and planning skills.
• Sr Cyber Security Analyst: Demonstrated questioning attitude, with basic analytical and investigative skills.
• Sr Cyber Security Analyst: Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with others.
• Sr Cyber Security Analyst: Willingness to learn new skills and methodologies, conduct research, and learn to maintain hardware, software, and network firewalls and encryption.
• Sr Cyber Security Analyst: Ability to work cooperatively in a teamed environment.

• Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience will be considered.

Nice To Haves

• A basic understanding of industrial cyber security standards and risk are desired.
• Previous work experience or exposure to the security aspects governing software, communications, and network protocols is a plus.
• Preferred: Certified IS Security Professional-CISSP.
• Preferred: The following Certifications from SANS: GCED, GWAPT, GSEC, GICSP, GCIH, GPEN, GCLD, GCFA, GCTD, GIAC.

Responsibilities

• Identification, assessment, and communication of cyber security risks.

• Consulting with subject matter experts and business representatives on cyber security decisions and policies.
• Serving as a participant in the cyber security incident response program.
• Working in a team environment to mitigate cyber security threats and improve security posture.
• Conducting cyber threat research into threat actors and campaigns.
• Assisting with root cause investigation and mitigation of cyber security events.
