About The Position

ARSIEM Corporation is seeking a Software Engineer to support Cyber Security Defensive Operations. This role involves the configuration of a Cyber Range, which includes hundreds to thousands of virtual machines (VMs), utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Terraform, Ansible, VMWare, and other automation technologies. The position is based in Laurel, MD, supporting one of ARSIEM's government clients. The company fosters a partnership with government clients, providing reliable and cutting-edge technical solutions with opportunities for professional growth and impact. The role also includes direct mission support activities for the Cyber Security Directorate's Defensive Network Operations organization when not actively engaged with the Cyber Range.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of relevant experience or Master's degree plus 6 years of relevant experience. An Associate's degree plus 10 years of relevant experience or high school diploma/GED plus 12 years of relevant experience may be considered for individuals with in-depth experience that is clearly related to the position.
  • Computer Science (CS) degree or related field
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Batch, and Python
  • Experience with networking and virtualization
  • Experience with Terraform and Ansible
  • Experience with cybersecurity tools, network configurations, and operational tools
  • Network Engineering experience with Arista, Cisco, and Juniper
  • Knowledge of operating systems, including Windows and Linux, application behaviors, and network traffic analysis
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment and working with flexible customer requirements
  • Active TS/SCI with a polygraph clearance
  • Must be a US Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating in an agile development environment and DevOps
  • Experience with container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker
  • Knowledge of penetration testing or red team operations
  • Experience utilizing and development with Splunk
  • Experience with Nutanix

Responsibilities

  • Support Cyber Security Defensive Operations with configuration of Cyber Range consisting of 100s to 1000s of VMs utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Terraform, Ansible, VMWare and other automation technologies.
  • Work closely with Hunt, Red and Blue Team operators to understand their desired configurations for the Cyber Security Range to support training, force on force exercises, and mimicking of customer infrastructures.
  • Work with a team of other Software Engineers, System Administrators, Network Engineers and Systems Engineers supporting the Cyber Range and develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Join a larger development team supporting the Cyber Security Directorate's Defensive Network Operations organization with direct mission support activities when not working on the Cyber Range.
