RTX BBN Technologies (BBN) has a long history of solving challenging problems through research, exploration, development, and prototyping. The Non-Kinetic Capabilities and Technologies team at BBN utilizes computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, and physics to address customer challenges in electromagnetic warfare (EW), communications, cybersecurity, cyberspace operations, networking, and RF domains for U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) customers. This internship offers the chance to develop next-generation cyber capabilities, create or investigate new types of cyber-physical systems, and develop exploits, implants, payloads, and communication stacks based on extensive reverse engineering, vulnerability analysis, and software development. Interns will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to solve complex problems and deliver actionable results, operationalizing software through testing, documentation, and integration. Interns will also gain insights into how a collaborative environment fosters state-of-the-art research, how a skilled group of research scientists can mentor and refine vision and strategy, and how business development, program management, contracting, finance, and HR functions contribute to mission success. They will learn how RTX resources can help transition capabilities and drive them toward fielding, and how to work with an experienced leadership team in government R&D.
