About The Position

This role is for a Cyber Infrastructure Engineer 1, an onsite position located in Largo, FL. The engineer will support the management and maintenance of VMware virtual infrastructure, including ESXi hosts, virtual machines, and vCenter, within a secure datacenter environment. Responsibilities include configuring and supporting virtual networking and highly available server clusters within a vSphere environment, as well as installing, configuring, and integrating servers supporting virtualized infrastructure and enterprise services. The role involves monitoring system performance and availability, troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues, and implementing and maintaining DISA STIG compliance. System maintenance, backups, and patching are also key duties, which may require off-hours support. Coordination with facilities, engineering, and security teams regarding datacenter operations and documentation of system configurations, changes, and operational procedures are also part of the role. This position requires an active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance (DoD Clearance: TS/SCI) and U.S. citizenship.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) obtained prior to start.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Supporting datacenters and ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Windows Server environments (Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy).
Familiarity with Linux administration and Bash scripting.
Understanding of network engineering fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, and subnetting.
Experience supporting security compliance and remediation activities within controlled environments.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to shifting priorities and operational requirements in a mission-focused environment.

Responsibilities

Support the management and maintenance of VMware virtual infrastructure, including ESXi hosts, virtual machines, and vCenter, within a secure datacenter environment.
Configure and support virtual networking and highly available server clusters within a vSphere environment.
Install, configure, and integrate servers supporting virtualized infrastructure and enterprise services.
Monitor system performance and availability while troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues involving virtualization, networking, and operating systems.
Implement and maintain DISA STIG compliance for ESXi, virtual machines, and management platforms.
Perform system maintenance, backups, and patching according to established operational procedures (may require off-hours support).
Coordinate with facilities, engineering, and security teams regarding datacenter operations such as power and cooling requirements.
Document system configurations, changes, and operational procedures in accordance with program standards.
