About The Position

The Cyber Defense Analyst is responsible for using data collected from various cyber defense tools (e.g., IDS alerts, firewalls, network traffic logs) to analyze events within the environment. The primary goal is to mitigate threats & enhance the organization's security posture.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • AA/AS Degree in a related discipline from an accredited college or university -or- Substitute 3+ Yrs of related EXP
  • IAT Level II (CCNA Security, CSA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP) Certification & applicable CE/OS Certification
  • EXP w/ data analysis, threat mitigation, incident response, continuous monitoring, & collaboration
  • EXP w/ Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, ACAS, Palo Alto, GitLab, BurpSuite, MacOS, iPadOS, Windows, & RedHat Enterprise Linux

Responsibilities

  • Utilize data from cyber defense tools to analyze/interpret security events
  • Identify/respond to potential threats to mitigate risks
  • Participate in incident response activities to address breaches
  • Maintain ongoing surveillance of network traffic & security alerts
  • Work w/ all teams to implement effective defense strategies & improve overall security measures
