About The Position

NFP’s Management, Cyber & Professional Liability (MCPL) team is seeking a Cyber Broker to support the placement and servicing of cyber liability and technology E&O programs across a diverse book of commercial clients. This is a client-facing brokerage role for someone who already understands how commercial insurance placements work and wants to specialize in one of the fastest-moving lines in the market. The Cyber Broker partners with retail producers, account managers, and carrier underwriters to structure, market, negotiate, and bind cyber coverage, typically in the small to mid-market client segment. This role will also likely support senior brokers handle accounts that tend to include complex, layered towers for middle-market and national client segments.

Requirements

Active Property & Casualty insurance license.
3–5 years of commercial insurance brokerage experience, retail or wholesale, including submission preparation, marketing, and placement.
Demonstrated experience placing cyber liability coverage, including familiarity with standalone cyber forms and carrier appetite.
Working knowledge of commercial P&C fundamentals: policy structure, limits and retentions, primary versus excess, and the renewal lifecycle.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical coverage concepts to non-technical audiences.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint; comfort working in an agency management system such as Epic.
Highly organized, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple placements simultaneously in a fast-moving market.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

Nice To Haves

Exposure to technology E&O, D&O, EPL, or other professional lines within a broader MCPL book.
Willing to become familiar with cybersecurity fundamentals and common frameworks such as NIST CSF or CIS Controls, or with cyber risk quantification and modeling tools.
Beginning understanding of privacy and breach notification regulation, including state notification laws, HIPAA, GDPR, and CCPA/CPRA, and industry-specific requirements such as PCI DSS.

Responsibilities

Prepare and package submissions, including applications, loss runs, ransomware and security supplementals, and narratives that position the risk favorably to underwriters.
Market new and renewal business to appropriate carriers; track submission status and drive to timely quote delivery.
Analyze and negotiate quotes on terms, limits, retentions, sublimits, coinsurance, waiting periods, and key coverage triggers.
Build comparison spreadsheets and proposals that clearly explain coverage differences to producers and clients.
Bind coverage, issue binders and certificates, review policies for accuracy, and manage endorsements and mid-term changes.
Advise on core cyber coverage parts: network security and privacy liability, breach response and notification costs, business interruption and contingent BI, cyber extortion and ransomware, digital asset restoration, media liability, and social engineering / funds transfer fraud.
Identify coverage gaps and differences in form language across carriers; flag restrictive endorsements such as war and infrastructure exclusions, widespread event language, and dependent BI limitations.
Support technology E&O, MPL, and related professional liability placements as needed within the MCPL practice.
Assist with claims advocacy by coordinating between the client, carrier, and breach response resources.
Serve as a technical resource to retail producers during prospecting, renewal strategy, and stewardship meetings.
Participate in client and prospect calls to explain coverage, market conditions, and underwriting expectations.
Help clients understand carrier security control requirements — MFA, EDR, backups, privileged access management, and patching cadence — and how those controls affect pricing and capacity.
Maintain accurate records in the agency management system and support renewal timelines, expiration reporting, and pipeline tracking.
Maintain and grow relationships with cyber underwriters, wholesalers, and MGA partners.
Stay current on market conditions, emerging threats, regulatory developments, and form changes; contribute to internal training and client-facing thought leadership.
