About The Position

Salas O’Brien is seeking an entry-level Cx Technician to support their Commissioning (Cx) team. This role is based in the New York office within the building systems group and operates on a hybrid work arrangement. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 0-3 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Project, Teams).
  • Understanding and ability to communicate with internal commissioning team members.
  • Excellent organization and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in the face of shifting projects and deadlines.
  • Read and clearly speak English, follow written and verbal instructions, write legibly for logs and documentation.
  • Work independently and with initiative as well as within team settings.
  • Willingness to learn and contribute.
  • A confident and positive attitude with colleagues and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Proofreading and formatting documents for consistency, style, and quality.
  • Assisting Cx lead personnel with jobsite observations.
  • Maintaining up-to-date digital project files.
  • Managing and maintaining the “Project Big Board”.
  • Distributing project information to the project team, client team, and consultants.
  • Setting up and formatting PowerPoint presentations.
  • Assisting IT and HR with new hire workspace setup.
  • Scheduling meetings and developing meeting minutes.
  • Writing field reports for jobsite observations.
  • Creating pre-functional checklists for contractors.
  • Developing MEP Cx and functional performance test procedures.
  • Providing technical support to project teams for building systems issues.
  • Assisting Cx lead personnel with equipment and systems conditions assessments.
  • Preparing basic calculations.
  • Developing commissioning plans, specifications, and Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR) documents.
  • Troubleshooting HVAC, controls, and plumbing systems.
  • Performing functional testing and verification of equipment and systems in the field.
  • Other duties as assigned.
