About The Position

We're seeking multiple experienced Cx-QA/QC Specialists to join one of two dedicated four-person project teams supporting the quality assurance and quality control program for two large-scale data center construction projects in Amarillo, Texas. As part of this team, you'll work collaboratively on a rotating schedule, committing to a minimum of 50 hours per week (inclusive of travel), to ensure the highest standards of quality across every phase of these mission-critical builds. This is a field-based position requiring regular weekly travel and on-site work at client project locations, as assigned. The initial assignment is in Amarillo, TX. The initial assignment is expected to last several months, with future assignments varying based on project needs and client requirements. Candidates must maintain a permanent residence and be willing to travel to assigned project sites on a weekly basis. The company offers travel expense reimbursement in accordance with company policy. The Cx-QA/QC Specialist ensures that electrical and mechanical systems in data center projects meet all quality, safety, and operational requirements. This role combines proactive oversight with responsive problem-solving to ensure that mechanical and electrical systems are properly designed, installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with owner expectations, safety standards and industry best practices. Due to the hazards associated with electrical systems, the specialist supports and coordinates closely with the Energy Marshall, confirming all pre-energization verifications and documentation are complete before startup. Working collaboratively with contractors, engineers, and customer teams, the specialist maintains professionalism under pressure and encourages a cooperative, improvement-oriented culture. The ideal candidate possesses in-depth experience in mechanical systems and electrical commissioning, a solid understanding of data center operations, a strong safety awareness, and excellent communication and analytical skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
• 7+ years of field construction experience with a strong QA/QC background
• Data center, mission-critical, or large-scale industrial construction experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in an owner's representative or third-party QA/QC inspector capacity preferred.
• Solid understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Expertise in electrical distribution systems, including low, medium, and high-voltage equipment as well as Mechanical experience to include TAB.
• Familiar with NCR processes, inspection test plans (ITPs), and quality documentation requirements.
• Familiarity with industry standards and codes, such as IEEE, NEC, NFPA, and NETA.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical system design, operation, and testing.
• Proficient in commissioning and project management software, such as Cx Alloy, Bluebeam, Procore, or similar platforms.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Regular travel to data center project sites.
• Ability to work in construction and industrial environments, including exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and confined spaces.
• May require extended hours during critical project phases.
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Successful completion of a background check.
• Successful completion of drug testing.
• Must have permanent residence in CONUS with access to a primary airport for weekly travel

Nice To Haves

• Relevant certifications, such as Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP), Professional Engineer (PE), or LEED Accredited Professional, are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all electrical and mechanical systems are installed, tested, and performing in accordance with project specifications, design intent, and applicable codes and standards.
• Review Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) results for major equipment and track closure of open or deferred items with vendors and site teams prior to functional testing.
• Audit GC and trade inspection checklists for accuracy and completeness, and perform independent QA/QC inspections with full documentation of findings.
• Develop and maintain commissioning plans, schedules, and test procedures for mechanical systems.
• Conduct proactive inspections through L1–L3 phases to confirm proper handling, installation, and readiness of equipment such as switchgear, PDUs, UPS systems, transformers, CRAC, VFD’s, pumps, and generators.
• Verify that pre-functional and startup testing (L3) are properly executed and documented by trade contractors, ensuring all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and energization activities are coordinated with the site Energy Marshall.
• Validate system integration and interoperability between mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Identify deficiencies and manage corrective actions through retesting and verification prior to turnover to the commissioning team.
• Prepare, maintain, and track QA/QC documentation—including inspection reports, checklists, MOPs, and test verification forms—within approved customer platforms.
• Compile and submit comprehensive commissioning reports and turnover packages that include test results, lessons learned, and as-built documentation.
• Coordinate daily with project managers, design engineers, contractors, and client representatives to align quality and commissioning activities with project milestones.
• Participate in commissioning meetings, site walkdowns, and coordination sessions to report progress and identify potential risks or delays.
• Communicate findings constructively and participate in coordination meetings to report QA/QC progress, readiness, and safety verification before energization.
• Perform ongoing inspections to verify that mechanical/electrical installations conform to drawings, specifications, and industry best practices.
• Perform field inspections to verify conformance with drawings, specifications, and best practices, emphasizing electrical safety and energization readiness.
• Identify and document non-conformances, recommend corrective actions, and support procedural improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, and reliability.
• Support the development and implementation of project-specific QA/QC programs and procedures to maintain consistency and quality throughout construction and commissioning.
• Support the handover of mechanical/electrical systems to operations by verifying completion of documentation, O&M manuals, and closeout requirements.
• Support commissioning handoff from L3 to L4, coordinating documentation and verifying closeout deliverables.
• Assist in collecting and organizing attic stock, spare parts, and warranty information for turnover.
• Assist in scheduling and pre-coordination of training for operations staff, ensuring all system information and procedures are accurately conveyed to facility teams.
