About The Position

We are seeking an experienced CVOR Surgical Technologist to support cardiovascular and operating room procedures in a fast-paced surgical environment. The Surgical Technologist will assist surgeons, registered nurses, and the perioperative team by maintaining sterile technique, preparing surgical instruments and supplies, supporting patient safety, and ensuring efficient operating room workflow throughout surgical procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of an accredited Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) training program required
  • CST Certification required
  • Current AHA BLS certification required
  • Strong understanding of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and perioperative procedures
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-acuity surgical environment
  • Physical stamina and dexterity required to perform surgical support duties effectively

Nice To Haves

  • Previous CVOR or Operating Room experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform surgical scrub, gowning, and gloving procedures according to aseptic standards
  • Prepare sterile instrument tables, supplies, and equipment based on surgical procedure requirements
  • Assist with draping patients and maintaining a sterile surgical environment
  • Anticipate surgeon needs for instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies during procedures
  • Maintain accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts with the circulating nurse
  • Identify and correct breaks in aseptic technique promptly
  • Handle and prepare surgical specimens according to established protocols
  • Assist with dressing application, drainage systems, and patient transfers
  • Decontaminate equipment and prepare operating rooms for subsequent procedures
  • Assist nursing staff with circulating functions and room preparation
  • Ensure all required surgical supplies and specialty equipment are available
  • Support patient positioning and safety throughout procedures
  • Maintain sterile storage areas and operating room organization
  • Assist with transportation of patients to and from the surgical suite
  • Support inventory management and notify leadership of supply or equipment concerns
  • Assist in maintaining and updating surgical preference cards
  • Assist nursing staff with medication preparation within scope and policy guidelines
  • Properly label medications and solutions on the sterile field
  • Communicate medication details clearly during procedures
  • Follow OSHA, infection prevention, and surgical safety guidelines at all times
