About The Position

As our Surgical Tech, you will help prepare the operating room and surgical team so they can successfully perform a variety of surgical procedures for patients. Every day you will set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and ensure a sterile environment. You will be expected to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively within the OR team, and contribute directly to the patient's healing process. To be successful in this role, you must possess adaptability, a strong team-player mindset, and enthusiasm for supporting complex surgical procedures. Demonstrates superior knowledge and practice in the first scrub role Understands supply costs and independently Works with team to assure that quality of care is maintained while cost containment is considered Demonstrates superior knowledge of the varied surgical equipment and advanced surgical instrumentation. Assures appropriate equipment and supplies are available for each procedure Assists in communication with Biomedical Services on the status of equipment needing repair or maintenance Educates staff in the care of instrumentation and equipment

Requirements

  • High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire or High School GED General Studies, upon hire
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent continuous experience as a Surgical Technologist in an acute care setting, directly supporting a broad range of surgical specialties
  • Certified Surgical Technologist, upon hire or Technologist in Surgery-Certified, upon hire or Certified First Assistant - Certified Surgical Technologists, upon hire or Licensed Vocational Nurse: CA, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology
  • Experience in high-acuity or specialized surgical areas (e.g., neurosurgery, cardiovascular, orthopedics, robotics)
