About The Position

We are seeking an experienced CVOR Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a 13-week travel assignment in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. This position is ideal for a Surgical Technologist with strong, recent cardiovascular operating room experience who is comfortable supporting complex cardiac and vascular procedures in a CVOR and hybrid Cath Lab environment. Candidates must be certified in Surgical Technology, maintain the appropriate Colorado surgical technologist registration or credentialing required for practice, and have current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Requirements

  • Recent CVOR Surgical Technologist experience
  • Strong cardiovascular surgical experience
  • Experience scrubbing cardiac and vascular procedures
  • Ability to work independently as part of a CVOR surgical team
  • Experience maintaining sterile technique during complex procedures
  • Strong familiarity with cardiovascular instruments, supplies, and equipment
  • Ability to participate in rotating call coverage
  • Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology / Scrub Technologist program
  • Current Surgical Technology certification through an accepted certifying organization, such as: NBSTSA – Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), NCCT or another credential accepted by the facility
  • Appropriate Colorado Surgical Technologist registration/credentialing through DORA, as required for employment
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
  • All required certifications and state credentials must remain current throughout the assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Function as a Surgical Technologist during cardiovascular and vascular procedures.
  • Prepare the operating room and sterile field before surgical cases.
  • Verify instruments, supplies, equipment, and implants are available before procedures begin.
  • Scrub and assist during cardiac and vascular surgical procedures.
  • Anticipate surgeon needs throughout each procedure.
  • Pass instruments, sutures, medications, and supplies in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintain strict sterile technique throughout procedures.
  • Perform surgical counts in accordance with facility policy.
  • Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping.
  • Support cardiovascular procedures performed in a hybrid operating room or Cath Lab setting.
  • Handle surgical specimens according to established procedures.
  • Assist with equipment setup and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain awareness of surgical workflow and respond quickly to changing procedural needs.
  • Support emergency cardiovascular procedures when required.
  • Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent cases.
  • Follow infection-prevention, surgical safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in required rotating call coverage.
