About The Position

NXP’s Front End Operations plays an essential role in the company’s success by ensuring manufacturing excellence and delivery of high quality, scalable, and cost-competitive semiconductor devices to create a winning advantage for our Customers. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing all hardware and process failures across specific AMAT and Lam (Novellus) mainframes and chambers. The technician will perform preventive maintenance, use SPC charts and FabGuard Fault Detection software to evaluate tool performance, and document maintenance activities. They will also assist in improving standardized work documents, maintain spare parts inventory, and engage in various other activities crucial for the area's success. The role requires a self-motivated individual with the ability to take initiative, interact with multiple disciplines in a 7x24 manufacturing facility, and possess strong data analysis, troubleshooting, teamwork, and communication skills. Solid knowledge of SPC and FDC, an aptitude for learning new skills, and the ability to thrive in a multi-cultural environment are essential. Key challenges include troubleshooting complex hardware and process issues, utilizing SPC and FDC data, and managing multiple equipment downs with shifting priorities.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree (or higher) in an engineering or science discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years semiconductor manufacturing experience.
  • Working knowledge/experience with AMAT 5200 Centura, AMAT Producer and AMAT Ultima mainframes with SACVD, TEOS, Tungsten, Passivation, and HDP chambers.
  • Working knowledge/experience with Novellus Concept 2 mainframes with Speed and Sequel chambers.
  • Experience with advanced electronics, equipment troubleshooting, installation, repair and operation of Semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Must be able to read schematics and complex drawings/diagrams.
  • Must be physically capable of standing for long periods of time as well as lifting and carrying objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work well in a diverse team environment and multitask with minimal supervision while adjusting to changing priorities.
  • Analytical problem solving and testing skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 7 years of NXP (or affiliate) experience may qualify in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair all hardware and process failures across AMAT 5200 Centura, AMAT Producer, AMAT Ultima, and Lam (Novellus) Speed & Sequel mainframes and chambers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities following standardized work documents.
  • Use SPC charts and FabGuard Fault Detection software to evaluate tool performance.
  • Document maintenance activities and assist in improving standardized work documents for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and various other activities related to the success of the area.
  • Assist Equipment Engineers with equipment upgrades, improvements and long down troubleshooting.
  • Work with process technicians on wafer recoveries and post maintenance qualification tasks.
  • Coordinate equipment down time with Manufacturing Leads.
