About The Position

NXP’s Front End Operations plays an essential role in the company’s success by ensuring manufacturing excellence and delivery of high quality, scalable, and cost-competitive semiconductor devices to create a winning advantage for our Customers. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing hardware and process failures for specific tool sets within a PVD Maintenance team, performing preventive maintenance, and utilizing SPC charts and FabGuard Fault Detection software to monitor tool performance. The technician will also document maintenance activities, assist in improving standardized work documents, maintain spare parts inventory, and contribute to the overall success of the area. Key challenges include troubleshooting complex hardware and process issues, dealing with multiple equipment downs, and shifting priorities. The role also requires cross-functional collaboration with Equipment Engineers, process technicians, and Manufacturing Leads.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree (or higher) in an engineering or science discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years semiconductor manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of NXP (or affiliate) experience may qualify in lieu of degree.
  • Working knowledge/experience with PVD Processes and toolsets.
  • Working knowledge/experience with Novellus Concept 2 mainframes with Speed and Sequel chambers.
  • Experience with advanced electronics, equipment troubleshooting, installation, repair and operation of Semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Must be able to read schematics and complex drawings/diagrams
  • Must be physically capable of standing for long periods of time as well as lifting and carrying objects up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work well in a diverse team environment and multitask with minimal supervision while adjusting to changing priorities
  • Analytical problem solving and testing skills

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair all hardware and process failures for the following tool sets in a PVD Maintenance team: AMAT Endura, AMAT Centura
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities following standardized work documents.
  • Use SPC charts and FabGuard Fault Detection (FDC) software to evaluate tool performance.
  • Document maintenance activities and assist in improving standardized work documents for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and various other activities related to the success of the area.
  • Assist Equipment Engineers with equipment upgrades, improvements and long down troubleshooting.
  • Work with process technicians on wafer recoveries and post maintenance qualification tasks.
  • Coordinate equipment down time with Manufacturing Leads.
