About The Position

The CVA Tech 1 primarily performs preventative maintenance and minor repairs on internal and external customers’ machines and engines, as well as the organization’s fleet. The position works under the general direction of the Service Manager and is based in Maui within the Service department. The role includes maintaining service records, communicating repair direction and recommendations, and working individually or as part of a team. Travel by air and/or ferry and work on a rotational schedule may be required as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
One year of experience servicing machines, engines, and/or fleet vehicles, including midsize trucks, within a CAT Dealership.
Ability to travel by air and/or ferry and work on a rotational schedule as needed.
PC skills.
Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
Ownership of hand tools suitable for the work described.

Responsibilities

Perform planned maintenance on machines and engines using manufacturer guidelines.
Complete oil, filter, and lubrication services, including checking and filling fluid levels to recommended specifications.
Conduct thorough inspections of machines and fleet equipment.
Complete assigned jobs and tasks within Time Requirement Guidelines.
Troubleshoot mechanical problems in fleet equipment.
Inspect safety devices and report inoperable conditions.
Use basic hand tools to maintain and repair machines, engines, and fleet equipment.
Use computer diagnostic tools, manufacturer software, and telematic systems.
Maintain maintenance and repair records for all services performed.
Work individually or as part of a team.
Communicate repair direction and make warranty and repair recommendations.
Maintain safety and housekeeping requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
