Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) is a private, nonprofit community-based healthcare system serving a 22-county region in North Florida and South Georgia. This entry-level position offers a pathway to professional career progression within the sonography/ultrasound discipline. The role involves performing routine assignments using established procedures and applying conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures. The sonographer will develop competence through structured work assignments under the guidance of others. Key responsibilities include operating diagnostic imaging equipment on patients to examine tissue and body structures, performing various diagnostic sonographic examinations on adult and/or pediatric patients using ultrasonic equipment in different modes and techniques to gather data for diagnosis and treatment, and performing/assisting with cardiovascular diagnostic procedures such as adult echocardiograms, stress echoes, non-surgical transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), carotid ultrasounds, and pulse volume recordings (PVR). Additional duties include scheduling and coordinating tests, preparing and maintaining operational logs, recording and documenting test results, updating patient records for referring physicians, and ensuring proper patient care and safety during procedures.
