Marmon Utility LLC, an operating unit of The Marmon Group - part of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., is a manufacturer of medium and high voltage underground cable from 5KV through 138kV, subsea cable, aerial cable systems, and molded polyethylene insulators. Marmon Utility LLC has more than 200 years of experience in the design, engineering, installation, and service of electric cable, cable systems and polymer insulators. Schedule: 7:00am – 7:00pm, Monday to Thursday 4-day --12-hour shifts…and enjoy 3-day weekends! WILLING TO TRAIN DEPENDABLE, PASSIONATE PEOPLE POSITION SUMMARY: Operates the line and consistently meets Hendrix’s quality and productivity requirements in a safe manner with minimum scrap.

Requirements

Understanding of the basic neutral line operation including the line components associated with the processes.
Tools and measuring devices applicable to the industry.
High school degree or GED required.
Position requires individuals with proven mechanical aptitude.
Read micrometers and other related precision tools.
Perform shop arithmetic.
Read and follow written instructions.
Communicate effectively to receive and pass on information and instructions.
Troubleshoot basic line problems.
Continuously pay attention to detail.
Fulfill simple computer tasks.
Work within a Team structure.
Position required individuals to have the ability to: Lift up to 50 pounds from the floor to chest.
Maneuver roll (exert up to one hundred (100) pounds of force), spin and align reels up to a 90” safely. (Johnson bar can be used to maneuver.)
Exert thirty to fifty pounds of force with cable cutters.
Visually inspect quality of product.
Use hand held tools and measuring devices.

Responsibilities

Always complies with company safety rules during working hours and ensures the safety of himself/herself and others at his/her operating station.
Responsible in keeping equipment and work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
Works in a professional manner, punctual and highly dependable.
Mechanically sets up the line including installation of appropriate tooling and all auxiliary line equipment needed to produce varying cable designs described in the process instructions.
Consistently monitors the supply of raw material to ensure continuous operation.
Performs required measurements with company approved measuring devices to ensure Verifies the measuring devices are calibrated.
Visually inspect for damaged wires.
Performs cold welds of bare neutral wires to maintain spool operation.
Maintain accurate record keeping of all pertinent information required by Hendrix, including work center records.
Takes corrective action to ensure quality product.
Participates in scheduled team meetings and contributes to continuous improvement.
Participates in maintaining ISO certification.
Adheres to applicable System Level Procedures (SLPs) and Process Controls
