Under direct supervision following established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines, this role assists in the cath lab by delivering care to patients before, during, and after procedures. The specialist will assist physicians and CVTs in performing various procedures, including but not limited to catheterizations, interventions, electrophysiology, and implants. Responsibilities include implementing patient care, documenting patient assessments and procedure flow, identifying and reporting situations requiring intervention, communicating goals and the plan of care, and ensuring patient rights are upheld. This position requires performing job duties in accordance with the values of Tampa General Hospital and requires constant supervision. A high school diploma is required, and the candidate must be enrolled in a CVIS program or have equivalent hospital experience (e.g., scrub tech, respiratory therapy, radiology technology, echocardiography) that will be reviewed for on-the-job training. Two years of progressive clinical experience in a hospital setting is also required.
