About The Position

We are seeking a Physician Assistant specializing in Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic Surgery for a Locum Tenens position in Santa Monica, CA. This inpatient role involves clinical duties and on-call responsibilities, covering a period from September 14, 2026, ongoing. The schedule includes Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 3 PM, with weekday and weekend call duties. The position requires assisting in the operating room, managing ICU and step-down patients, performing vein harvesting, interpreting diagnostic tests, and managing devices like ECMO, IABP, and Impella.

Requirements

• Board Certified required
• Licensed in CA
• CA DEA required
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification

Nice To Haves

• 3-5 years of experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide cardiothoracic surgical assistance in the operating room
• Manage ICU and step-down patients, including rounding
• Perform radial and endoscopic vein harvesting
• Interpret EKGs, X-rays, and lab results
• Participate in on-call rotation (1:2 ratio) for weekday and weekend coverage
• Operate ECMO, IABP, and Impella devices
