About The Position

Symbiotic Services is seeking an experienced Cutting Supervisor to oversee cutting department operations for a leading furniture manufacturing environment in Dallas, Texas. This position is responsible for driving production efficiency, maintaining quality standards, supervising team members, and supporting operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. This is a fully onsite role based in Dallas, TX. The Cutting Supervisor will lead daily cutting operations, ensure production goals are met, monitor safety and quality standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, manufacturing experience, and a hands-on approach to process improvement and team development.

Requirements

  • Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage production schedules and workforce planning
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and safety regulations
  • Experience with continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment

  • Experience within furniture manufacturing or related production environments preferred

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily production schedules while maintaining quality and operational standards
  • Achieve productivity and labor efficiency goals while minimizing material waste and overhead costs
  • Direct and monitor section leads to ensure production targets are achieved safely and efficiently
  • Communicate company policies, procedures, and operational updates to team members
  • Partner with Human Resources on employee retention, training, staffing, and development initiatives
  • Hire, train, coach, and evaluate production staff
  • Address performance and disciplinary matters in accordance with company policies
  • Ensure compliance with federal safety regulations and internal safety procedures
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to reduce costs, scrap, and rework
  • Establish and maintain production standards and manufacturing procedures
  • Support training, housekeeping, safety, security, and cost-reduction programs
  • Ensure production schedules are completed accurately and on time for shipping
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product Development on manufacturing methods and process improvements
  • Manage labor and equipment capacity according to production requirements
  • Schedule employee shifts and department operating hours to meet business demands
  • Conduct performance and attendance evaluations for direct reports
  • Motivate employees and promote a positive team-oriented work environment
  • Coordinate production launches for new or revised products
  • Apply statistical analysis and process improvement methods to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Identify operational challenges and implement corrective solutions
  • Evaluate workflows and eliminate non-value-added activities
  • Monitor production flow and prioritize manufacturing activities
  • Oversee equipment usage and preventive maintenance practices
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
