About The Position

The Cutter/Upholstery Tech is responsible for preparing, cutting, and upholstering components used in high‑quality Pilates equipment. This role requires strong hands‑on upholstery experience, precision cutting skills, and the ability to work independently from patterns and specifications to produce consistent, finished products.

Requirements

Proven upholstery experience in furniture, marine, fitness equipment, or similar production environments
Strong cutting and layout skills with the ability to minimize material waste
Comfort reading patterns, measurements, and work instructions
Experience working with vinyl, leather, canvas, and foam
High attention to detail and pride in finished work
Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
Experience with hand tools, staple removers, glue guns, industrial shears, etc.
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and maneuver materials and components throughout the workday

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with industrial sewing machines is a plus
Furniture or custom upholstery experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Inspect materials, foam, and finished components to determine proper construction methods and ensure quality standards are met
Create, interpret, and work from upholstery patterns, templates, and measurements
Accurately measure and cut fabric, vinyl, leather, and foam accurately for upholstery components
Prepare and assemble padded components including cushions, mats, and upholstered panels
Apply upholstery techniques such as wrapping, stretching, tufting, pleating, and trimming
Install fabric or leather over foam and substrates with clean alignment and proper tension
Operate and maintain cutting tools, staple guns, hand-held power tools, when needed
Perform double stitching and reinforce seams where required
Identify material flaws or construction issues; fixing defects and communicating needed corrections
