About The Position

Operates, cleans and performs minor maintenance on cutter systems, Pef and product sizing equipment under normal supervision. Oversees all equipment from weigh belt through product graders. Ensures the clean efficient operation of the defect removal equipment to obtain product quality standards for defects.

Requirements

Requires mental and manual skill, initiative and independence.
Requires good communication skills.
Requires experience and knowledge of computers, and some electronics, and processing line flow.
Needs to successfully complete skill levels test at minimum score.

Responsibilities

Operates and monitors sizing and cutting equipment to obtain proper product cut uniformity and maximize use of raw product.
Cleans all related equipment and surrounding areas.
Monitors and adjusts pef equipment to ensure product has proper cutting characteristics.
Maintains proper load levels of product from prime weigh belt through the cutters and graders.
Helps coworkers during defrost and changeovers on cutters and sorter.
Maintain proper load levels to the cutters.
Performs minor maintenance on pef, cutting, sizing and sorting equipment.
Accurately completes required testing, reports and records.
Monitor and control defect level on prime, specialty lines.
Startup all sorting and associated line flow equipment.
Checks quality in QA and references it to current equipment setup and optimize per label running.
Perform machine diagnostic checks and change or replace defective equipment.
Perform machine preventative maintenance checks daily/weekly/quarterly.
Collect samples and inspect product for quality requirements.
Accurately complete required reports and records.
Clean equipment and surrounding areas.
Coordinates with other sorter/cutter personnel.
Understands the concepts and participates in the techniques of the quality process.
Notifies appropriate personnel of quality and production line problems.
Follows company policy for job safety.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
