About The Position

We are actively hiring for the positions of Cutter Operator for our plant in Van Nuys, CA. This role involves operating cutting machines, ensuring adherence to job specifications, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The operator will be responsible for managing workload, monitoring machine performance, troubleshooting issues, and recording production data.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience using continuous and pile fed machines and packing exp.
Good problem-solving and communication skills.
Attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively with Press Operator.
Ability to multitask with changing priorities.
Ability to recognize safety issues & corrective actions.

Responsibilities

Access IMS program to determine priority jobs and set workload for the day.
Place printed jobs on jogger to align and weigh according to job specifications.
Align prepared batch inside cutter to select cutting program to follow.
Follow cutting program cutting from biggest measurement to smallest measurement.
Monitor assigned machine during each cut to ensure adherence to specifications and make adjustments as needed to maintain specifications and operating speed.
Troubleshoot machine problems, resolve if possible, notifying Bindery Supervisor/Plant Management.
Replace worn cutting blades with hand tools when required.
Record production and operational data, such as amount of materials processed.
Ensure all equipment, tools, and work station are in good working order and is free of any safety hazards.
Must be available for any required overtime based on business needs.
