About The Position

They are seeking candidates for multiple positions at their Food service folding carton manufacturing operation in Chicago, IL. This specific posting is for a Cutting Operator with a pay range of $27.67 to $35.64 per hour, plus shift differential and progressive pay increases. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be flexible: Able to work overtime, other shifts, and Saturdays/Sundays when needed.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime.
  • Ability to work alternate schedules and overtime that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual.
  • Sitting or standing for extended periods, depending on changing job assignment.
  • Awkward and/or repetitive movements.
  • Routine Lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Occasional Lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Push/pull pallet jack with up to 45lb force load.
  • Reading computer screens or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment.
  • Work in areas of fluctuating temperature.
  • Participation in the Succession Program requires meeting all performance, skill development, and progression expectations.
  • Demonstrate continuous growth and readiness to advance to the next level in the Succession Program (Baler → Aerator → Cutting Operator).
  • Complete required training, meet performance standards, and accept promotional movement when selected.
  • Ability to transition to the night shift when required for advancement within the succession path.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and run the cutting machine efficiently.
  • Oversee the quality of products processed.
  • Perform press make ready: adjust press to accommodate new product sheets (set feeder, lock up die, set stripper, blanker, and delivery).
  • Inspect quality of each load run by checking random sheets.
  • Flag and isolate poorly produced materials when cutting problems are encountered.
  • Make proper corrections before continuing the order.
  • Remove cut loads from press using a hand truck.
  • Maintain written records of production, waste, and time.
  • Perform score bend readings.
  • Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures related to the production of Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
  • Report potentially unsafe conditions that may result in unsafe food or noncompliance with SQF procedures.
  • Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions as required.
  • Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority.
