About The Position

This role involves setting up and operating sawing machines to produce items from various materials according to blueprints, sketches, and work instructions. The associate will also be responsible for maintaining the raw material storage area, controlling inventory, and pulling/returning materials as needed. The position requires a strong focus on producing quality products within specifications and adhering to company safety policies. It is a hands-on role that requires independent work, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work overtime as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years of hands-on experience with setup and operation of sawing machines.
  • Experience with devices to lift heavy irregular shaped objects (i.e., cranes, power lifts, and methods of lifting).
  • Basic shop mathematics and technologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints.
  • Understand order of operations and good manufacturing practices.
  • Ability to correctly use and read measuring tools (i.e., tape measure, scale, Vernier calipers).
  • Ability to control equipment to hold tolerances to 1/64" consistently.
  • Verbal and written communication skills to convey information within the organization.
  • Ability to solve practical manufacturing problems with little guidance.
  • Average computer skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Possess manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items with fingers.
  • Able to lift, carry, move, push or pull up to 40 lbs. without aid of a device.
  • Work in shop conditions with moving equipment, noise, dust, and temperature swings.
  • Periodically exposed to hazards of a serious nature requiring care in use of machinery and other equipment necessitating the use of personal protection equipment.

  • Produce product within specification and applicable procedures/work instructions.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance and blade replacement.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
  • Ensure the quality of their own work.
  • Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Participate in efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Work overtime as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
