About The Position

Directs and coordinates activities of the CBC department to obtain optimum efficiency and excellence of operations and maximize profits by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. The CBC Supervisor is responsible for the overall operational results of their team.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years’ related experience and/or training.
  • Proficient command of the English language.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced education is preferred.
  • License for Customs Broker Preferred.
  • Experience with Cargo wise is preferred.
  • Intermediate-to-advanced skills in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops and implements KPIs, and goals
  • Directs preparation of directives to employees outline policy, program, or operations changes to be implemented
  • Analyzes and organizes team operations and procedures such as personnel, information management, filing systems, and other administrative functions
  • Maximizes team productivity through proficient use of appropriate software applications
  • Research and develops resources that create timely and efficient workflow for the team
  • Analyze data to monitor employee performance and plan improvements
  • Evaluates Customs clearance problems, recommends and creates new solutions
  • Establishes uniform correspondence procedures and style practices to avoid CBP penalties
  • Ensures team follows procedures for systematic retention, protection, retrieval, transfer, and disposal of records.
  • Reviews clerical and client records to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness
  • Prepares activity reports for management analysis.
  • Maintains routine contact with internal / external customers and outside vendors
  • Direct and oversee activities of staff engaged in assigning tariff classifications and processing Customs entries
  • Monitor / Audit operations to ensure compliance with US regulations and company policies.
  • Will directly supervise up to 10 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
