About The Position

The Sr. Analytics Analyst designs, develops, and continuously enhances analytics solutions that transform inbound logistics and customs compliance data into trusted, business-ready insights that support operational execution and strategic decision-making. Working collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders, the Sr. Analytics Analyst translates business requirements into scalable analytics solutions that improve visibility and decision-making for operational, managerial, and executive leadership. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, this role is responsible for the continuous evolution of the department's analytics ecosystem by identifying opportunities to optimize business processes, strengthen analytics capabilities, and support the organization's evolving operational and strategic objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, International Business, Business Administration, Logistics, Finance, or a related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education and directly related professional experience will be considered.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in customs brokerage, import compliance, international trade compliance, customs operations, or a related international logistics function.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing, reviewing, auditing, or supporting U.S. customs entries and resolving customs entry discrepancies or exceptions.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, customs valuation, tariff classification, country of origin, recordkeeping requirements, free trade programs, and Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements.
  • Experience researching and assigning Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), General Rules of Interpretation (GRIs), Section and Chapter Notes, CROSS rulings, CBP guidance, and other applicable regulatory resources.
  • Experience working with Automated Broker Interface (ABI) systems, customs entry software, and troubleshooting transmission or system-related issues.
  • Experience analyzing customs, trade compliance, or supply chain data using Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, Power Query, or comparable analytical tools.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues, perform root cause analysis, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, manage assigned responsibilities independently, and make decisions within established company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. customs laws, regulations, tariff classification principles, and import compliance requirements, with the ability to apply technical requirements to diverse business scenarios.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups, data analysis, and reporting; experience with Power Query, Power BI, ERP reporting tools, or similar technologies is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to explain complex customs and regulatory requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, compliance deadlines, operational issues, and projects effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects, process improvements, system implementations, and cross-functional initiatives without direct supervisory responsibility.
  • Ability to develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, process documentation, training materials, and internal compliance controls.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to regulatory compliance, data accuracy, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional business partners, customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, manufacturing locations, government agencies, and external service providers.
  • Ability to serve as a technical resource by providing coaching, procedural guidance, and knowledge sharing to team members and business partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) certification preferred.
  • U.S. Customs Broker License, or demonstrated progress toward obtaining professional customs or trade compliance certification, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and apply U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, tariff provisions, Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements, and company policies; research and determine Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications using HTSUS, GRIs, Section and Chapter Notes, CROSS rulings, CBP guidance, product specifications, and other applicable resources; monitor regulatory changes and provide technical guidance to team members and business partners.
  • Serve as an operational escalation resource and independently resolve complex customs entry issues, including entry rejections, ABI errors, documentation discrepancies, classification questions, manufacturer information, PGA requirements, duty discrepancies, and other customs exceptions; process specialized and complex entries that fall outside standard filing procedures.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers, carriers, freight forwarders, manufacturing locations, government agencies, and internal business partners to resolve customs clearance issues; prepare DIS submissions and respond to CBP inquiries, examinations, holds, and documentation requests; escalate matters involving significant compliance risk, regulatory interpretation, financial exposure, or operational impact.
  • Own assigned customs compliance controls, including entry audits, Importer Security Filing (ISF) validation, duty and tariff verification, recordkeeping, PGA compliance, and related monitoring; analyze risks and trends, perform root cause analysis, recommend corrective and preventive actions, and track findings through resolution to validate effectiveness.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze operational and compliance reporting using Excel, Power Query, ABI data, ERP systems, and other available tools; identify exceptions, trends, discrepancies, and data quality concerns; design reporting enhancements and analytical controls and present actionable recommendations to Customs leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Manage assigned customs processes from initiation through completion and lead process improvements, system enhancements, user acceptance testing (UAT), reporting improvements, and implementation activities related to new regulations, business models, technologies, brokers, vendors, and operational programs; develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, process documentation, and compliance controls.
  • Serve as a technical resource and escalation point for operational team members; provide training, coaching, and procedural guidance, review complex or exception-based transactions, support operational continuity during high-volume periods, system disruptions, or regulatory changes, and partner with the Senior Customs Compliance Analyst and Customs leadership to prioritize risks and corrective actions.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
