Requirements

3+ years of experience as a Customs Analyst or Entry Writer
Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and ABI filing
Proven experience with HTS classification and import/export compliance
Familiarity with CBP's ACE Secure Data Portal
Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Good organization and decision-making skills, detail-oriented
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to perform multiple tasks and cope with time deadlines
Good mathematical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Perform tasks and responsibilities detailed in Magna’s IATF16949 policies, procedures, and work instructions.

Customs Broker License (preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

Perform and maintain accurate HTS classification, valuation, and country-of-origin determinations.
Review and validate shipping documentation including invoices, packing lists, and transport documents.
Organize and manage efficient document filling process.
Collaborate with customs brokers to ensure declaration compliance on a daily basis.
Verify import and export declaration with provided instructions, origin certificates, USMCA certificates, …
Check Customs and Accounting traceability in SAP.
Prepare, file and track CAPE declarations in CBP's ACE Secure Data Portal.
Assure and monitor the use of import adjustment offset licenses (e.g. Section 232) provided by customers.
Prepare and coordinate post-entry corrections (PSC) in cooperation with brokers.
Request and archive Supplier’s Long-Term declaration in collaboration with Purchasing.
Responsible for management and oversight of customer requests in the fields of Free Trade Agreement qualification, Origin determination, RVC calculation…).
Monitor sufficiency of continuous customs bonds and coordinate renewal process.
Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, carriers, brokers, and CBP.
Support Supply Chain team in shipment activities.
Support cross functional teams with Duty Impact Analysis to assist with sourcing decisions and landed cost calculations.
Coordinate the preparation of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) / Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) company certification.
Ensure compliance with CBP regulations.
Provide reporting and analysis to Management via Ad Hoc and/or ACE Reports.
Assist with the development of departmental procedures and ensure that established procedures are properly understand and being followed in regards to areas of direct responsibility.
